A Mass commemorating 3rd anniversary of Don Remigio Musaragno’s death will take place on 20th June 2012 in Rome.
It will be celebrated by Mons. Oscar Rizzato at S. Salvatore in Onda Church, Via dei Pettinari 51, 00186 Rome, from 16:00.
For more than 40 years, Don Remigio Musaragno dedicated his life to serve foreign students in Italy. He understood the importance of supporting students from all parts of the world, especially the poor students from developing countries, to pursue their studies.
Don Remigio founded Centro Internazionale Giovanni XXIII, a centre that hosted each year at least 150 students from all parts of the world.
The centre provided accommodation at very cheap rates for students who could afford, and hosted for free those who could not afford.
It also provided free meals not only to students hosted at the centre, but also to all foreign students who didn’t have where to go to for meals.
Don Remigio used to refer to students as “intellectual workers” who deserved to be treated in a special manner.
All are invited to come and pray for his soul and to celebrate the good work he did for foreign students in Italy.
