Alima Moro has won the best goalkeeper award at Italy’s Top 6 Serie A female football tournament.
The Ghanaian goalkeeper plays for Trevignano in Treviso, her fourth club since coming to Italy.
“I’m impressed by the great support from my current coach, the club management, my teammates and the supporters,” she said. “I feel so much pampered by the entire club. They say I’m the best goalkeeper they have ever had and they are proud of me.”
Alima is satisfied with her performance and her team’s achievements this year.
Her motivation comes from remembering where she has come from and how far she has come. “I strive to be the best and I work very hard at what I do. To be the first choice goalkeeper of my team, to be mentioned as one of the best goalkeepers in our league, and to be representing my continent- Africa and my country Ghana, motivate me even more to work hardest,” she said.
Alima has urged Ghanaian authorities to invest in and encourage female football players.
