Black businesses to fight being frozen out of Olympics

The African and Caribbean Business Expo will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London, from 4th to 10th August 2012.

The event is the brainchild of London-based businesswomen Em Ekong and Ann Griffin, and was conceived in direct response to the need felt by black businesses in London to claim their own stake on the Olympics opportunity.

African Women in Business Conference takes place in London

The 2nd Annual African Women in Business Conference will be held in London on 13th July 2012.

The conference to be addressed by influential African women has been organized by the Association for African Owned Enterprises (AAOE UK).

It will take place at the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square, London, WC1H 0XG, 11:00am to 9:00pm.

Make efforts to halt spread of HIV, Africans in UK advised

African communities can play a vital role in the effort to slash HIV rates within a decade, HIV and sexual health charity Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) has said.

Thirty years have now passed since the death of Terry Higgins (4th July 1982), the first person in the UK to be publicly identified as dying with AIDS.

Zim man rapes and impregnates daughter in UK

A Zimbabwean man in the UK raped for at least two years and fathered a child with his 14 year old daughter.

Before coming to the UK the man lived with his polygamous family in Botswana. His first wife with whom he has two daughters, remained in Botswana when the daughters joined him in the UK with his second wife.
