11 bailed over Oxford Street murder

Detectives appeal for witnesses and information

Eleven people arrested in connection with the murder on Oxford Street have been bailed.
 
All of those arrested - one aged 16; three aged 17; five aged 19 and two aged 22 - have been bailed to dates in mid-January pending further investigation.

Father given life sentence for killing son and daughter

A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for killing son and daughter. Jean Francis Say, 62, murdered eight-year-old Regina and 10-year-old Rolls during a weekend visit with him.

On 12th December 2011, at the Old Bailey, Mr. Say was handed a minimum term of 30 years for each of the murders.

Sham marriage fixer jailed

A British-Nigerian national who attempted to arrange fake marriages in London has been jailed for 18 months.
Ola Kukute, 37, was found guilty of conspiracy to facilitate a sham marriage following an eight-day trial at the inner London Crown Court which ended on 27th October.

Man jailed for raping drunk woman

A man who raped a woman at his Tameside home has been jailed. Gael Kamki of Mulberry Walk, Denton, was convicted of rape, sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault by touching.

At Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on 1st December 2011, he was jailed for six years and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.

On 22nd May 2010, Kamki raped a 21-year-old woman who was drunk and asleep in an upstairs room. When she awoke she realised she had been raped.

Man who kicked pensioner to death given life sentence

A man who kicked to death a great-grandmother has been jailed for life.

Christopher Newton, 45, of Bow Road, E3, kicked the woman moments after she took her partially-sighted friend his evening meal at the sheltered accommodation in which they lived.

Eileen Jones, 73, was discovered in the friend’s flat the following morning, on 23rd March 2011, with the unfinished meal still in the kitchen.
