Africans in Italy
Meet Sandra Ero, Nigerian model, actress, showgirl and dancer
“Education is one of the best things in life”
11th December 2009: Success is never achieved easily. One must work hard for it. “You should keep trying until you get what you are looking for,” says Sandra Ero, a Nigerian model, actress, showgirl and dancer.
The calm and altruistic Sandra came to Italy in 2001 for further studies.
Sandra has a dream of becoming a very successful actress and to win an Oscar. She is more interested in playing dramatic roles.
Apart from aspiring to be successful in her career, Sandra would also love to establish a very happy family.
Sandra’s ideal man must be “intelligent, modern and romantic.”
While admitting that it has not been easy for her to find jobs as a model and actress in Italy, Sandra is quick to add that she is happy with what she has so far managed to do.
She has participated in famous TV programs such as "Ciao Darwin", "Le Iene", "Buona Domenica", and played some roles in "Don Matteo" and "Butta la luna" fictions.
She has also played a role in “La Berlusconeide" theatre show by journalist and TV author Cesare Lanza, directed by Gian Carlo Nicotra.
Asked what’s the difference between acting in theatre and acting in a movie, Sandra says that “theatre is tougher because you cannot repeat your scenes.”
Sandra is aware that it’s not enough for one to be a good actress. It is important to study acting. This is why she decided to study acting at Studio 254 Academy in Rome. “Education is one of the best things in life,” she says.
Her advice to young African girls who would like to become models and actresses is: “Study because it is through education that you can rise to the top.”
Sandra’s favourite quote is: “Never underestimate people.”
