Gospel singer pays tribute to victims of terrorist attack in Kenya

Gospel musician Sam Adebanjo has released a new song paying tribute to the victims of recent terrorist attack in Nairobi, Kenya.

The song titled “Prayer for Africa”, was written by award-winning MOBO nominee Adebanjo and produced by Grammy Award Nominee Steven Abramsamadu.

Reworked Fela Kuti compositions to raise money to fight AIDS

Knitting Factory Records this month releases “Red Hot + Fela” to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Fela Kuti’s birth.

The release unites an eclectic, collaborative roster of artists from USA and Africa to support the fight against AIDS. In fact all profits are going to support AIDS awareness campaigns.

New compilation features tracks of Ghana’s musical giants of the ‘70s

A new compilation featuring 13 ultra-rare tracks by some of the musical giants who rocked Ghana throughout the ‘70s has been released.

Analog Africa criss-crossed Ghana in search of rare tracks to include in the “Afrobeat Airways 2: Return Flight to Ghana 1974-1983”. This is a journey from the coastal cities of Accra and Cape Coast, basked in a tropical sound heavily influenced by highlife, to the semi-Saharan cities of Tamalé and Bolgatanga (part of a self-proclaimed ‘Islamic Funk Belt’) via the central city of Kumasi.
