The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Gianfranco Fini should promote the reform of the citizenship law by putting it in Parliament’s agenda, Khalid Chaouki, head of Nuovi Italiani of the Democratic Party has said.
He asked the Parliament to stop ignoring the calls for reform of the citizenship law. The Parliament should stop being indifferent while many children born in Italy of immigrant parents are denied citizenship, Mr. Chaouki said.
