Rome to host anti-racism event

Eliseo Theatre in Rome will host an evening of reflection against racism on 19th March 2012.

The event which will mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, will take place from 21:00.

It will be dedicated to Samb Modou and Diop Mor, the two Senegalese who were killed by a racist gunman in Florence last December.

Ndeye Rokhaya Mbengue, the widow of Modou will attend.

Many Italian artists have confirmed their presence including Ascanio Celestini. Laura Boldrini, spokesperson of UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR)  in Italy, Pape Diaw, leader of the Senegalese community in Florence, and Massimiliano Monnanni from UNAR, the National Office against Racial Discrimination will also attend the event.
