Integration Minister Andrea Riccardi is a “useless minister”, Maurizio Gasparri, leader of People of Liberty Party’s Senators has said.

Reacting to Mr. Riccardi’s statement that he was dreaming of a law granting citizenship to children born in Italy of immigrant parents, Mr. Gasparri advised the minister to stop calling for such a law which he said “will never be”.

Apart from making proposals as an aspirant politician, what else has Mr. Riccardi done in these months, Mr. Gasparri asked in what appears to be the strongest personal attack against the minister.

Mr. Riccardi “has done thing”, he is “a total failure” Mr. Gasparri said.

He asked Prime Minister Mario Monti to remind the minister to do his work.

Mr. Gasparri described Mr. Riccardi as a “useless minister who is yet to justify his appointment,” and challenged him to reveal what he has done so far.
