Home Affairs Minister Annamaria Cancellieri has said that Italy accepts 30% of asylum applications. The government is determined to ensure that the applications are fast processed and appropriate decisions made, she said.
Ms. Cancellieri revealed that the government currently hosts 28,000 immigrants in the reception centres throughout the country.
She said it was very expensive to run the centres, but didn’t reveal how much they spend.
