Democratic Party has criticised the government’s decision to suspend funds for refugees in Calabria.
Local authorities have said that refugees hosted in different centres in Calabria are living in critical conditions without the necessary State help.
Livia Turco, MP, head of Democratic Party’s Immigration Forum said it was incomprehensible for the State to abandon local authorities in Calabria as they struggle to take care of refugees.
The suspension of planned funds for refugees is “truly intolerable,” Ms. Turco said.
She joined the local mayors in urging the government and the Regional authorities to do their part.
