Senate has rejected the attempt to block regularisation of illegal immigrant workers in Italy.
Northern League Party and People of Liberty Party recently submitted a motion in the Senate trying to block regularisation of illegal immigrant workers in the country.
Sandro Mazzatorta of the Northern League Party said that regularisation of illegal immigrant workers would weigh heavily on the national health scheme.
“We can’t accept this regularisation,” Mr. Mazzatorta said.
While the government has estimated that 150,000 illegal immigrant workers may be regularized, Mr. Mazzatorta claimed that up to 800,000 illegal immigrant workers may be regularised.
