Highly skilled non-EU foreigners willing to come to Italy for work can now apply for the EU Blue Card.
The application for authorization to work in order to be issued the Blue Card is submitted online.
An interested individual must log on to https://nullaostalavoro.interno.it, and register by initially typing in their email address and password. This enables the applicant to access the section reserved for applicants.
After registration, the applicant will have access to the forms section where they can fill in the form applying for authorization to work in order to be issued the Blue Card. The form to fill in is called “Modulo BC”.
The applicant must provide all the required information including work contract or binding proposed work contract; higher educational qualification; and gross annual income.
Having provided all the required information, the applicant can click on 'Invia' (Send) to submit the application to the local Immigrations Office at the Prefecture.
The applicant can consult the manual prepared by Ministry of Home Affairs to help with the filling in of the application.
A notice will appear on the applicant’s home page informing them that the application has been submitted successfully.
Once the authorization to work has been issued (this must be done within 90 days of submitting the application), the foreign worker can go to the Immigrations Office at the Prefecture to undersign the Residency Contract (contratto di soggiorno).
All information about the law governing the Blue Card, requirements and application procedure can be found in the Legislative Decree 108/2012 and in the Ministry’s Circular Letter.
