At least 17,365 immigrants arrived by boat in Italy between 1st August 2011 and 31st July 2012, Ministry of Home Affairs has said.

Some 115,016 permits were issued or renewed for self-employed work; 921,080 for subordinate work; and 524,406 for family reunification.

Data from Ministry of Home Affairs also show that 33,656 applications for international protection were processed.
