Some supporters of Lega Nord are distributing a special soap Italians should use to wash their hands after touching immigrants.
Instructions on the soap packet read: “For washing hands after touching an immigrant”.
The soap is reportedly being distributed at Sansepolcro and in some markets in Arezzo.
Mr. Leoluca Orlando, spokesperson of Italia Dei Valori party has strongly condemned the act saying it confirms that Lega Nord is a racist and xenophobic party.
He described the act as “shameful” and said it promotes racial hatred.
Mr. Orlando asked the Minister of Home Affairs Roberto Maroni to intervene and stop the distribution of that soap.
