A man has abandoned his fiancée at the altar on the wedding day in small town in Southern Italy.
According to a report by Julienews.it, everything was set for the big day, and all the guests had arrived for the wedding ceremony at Maria Santissima della Badia Basilica in Monopoli, Bari Province.
The ceremony seemed to be proceeding as usual until the moment Fr. Vincenzo, the celebrant, asked the groom: “Do you take (bride's name) for your lawful wedded wife?”
Nobody believed the groom’s answer: “No,” he said categorically.
There was a moment of confusion in the church, with some obviously thinking that he was joking.
When the priest asked him why he had decided to say “No”, he answered: “Ask the bride and the best man.”
It didn’t take long before it became known that the bride and the best man had an affair.
But the fiancée, who happened to know about the affair, carefully crafted his revenge plan to be implemented in public.
And in order not to lose the advance payment he had made at the restaurant, he invited his friends to eat and celebrate his return to bachelor life.
