More information about those with expulsion orders who can be regularised

22nd August 2009: Question: It is being said that some illegal immigrants who had been an expulsion order can be regularised while others cannot be regularised. How can I know if I can be regularised because I was given an expulsion order but I never left the country.

Answer: If you were expelled for having entered Italian territory illegally, or for having failed to renew your Permit of Stay within the required time, you can be regularised. But if you were expelled because you committed a criminal offence, you cannot be regularised. If in the past you were given an expulsion order but failed to leave the Italian territory, then you were later on arrested, (in this case you committed an offence), then you cannot be regularised.
