Can asylum applicant be regularised?

Question: Hello, I applied for asylum and was given temporary permit as I wait for my asylum application to be processed. The temporary permit I was given is valid for six months. I’ve been working using this permit and my employer has been paying taxes. Can my employer apply to regularise me?

Answer: Your employer can’t apply to regularise you because at the moment you are in Italy legally. The fact that you have a Permit of Stay as you wait for your asylum application to be processed disqualifies you from being regularised.
