A foreigner who holds an EC long term residence permit issued by an EU Member State may go for work in another Member State under certain conditions. This right is prescribed by the Council Directive 2003/109/EC of 25 November 2003 concerning the status of third-country nationals who are long-term residents.
The EU Directive was transposed into Italian law by Legislative Decree Number 3 of 2007.
