Regularisation: Employer must have a clean legal record

If you are an illegal immigrant worker in Italy and are planning to regularise your stay in the country, make sure your employer has a clean legal record.

Check and make sure that in the past five years, he/she has not been condemned for any of the following crimes, even if it’s not a definitive sentence: aiding and abetting illegal immigration; for exploiting illegal immigrant workers; for human trafficking; for exploitation of prostitution and minor children; and for hiring illegal immigrants.

There are employers who in the past applied to either regularise their workers or bring into the country foreign workers under the Quota Agreement (Quota Agreement), then refused to go and sign the residency contracts at the Immigration Office at the Prefecture when summoned. If your employer did such a thing in past, then your application for regularisation will be rejected.
