Nokuthaba is currently Miss May in the Face of Zimbabwe contest, a role that has seen her become an ambassador of her country in the UK. The teenager is also KLM entertainment’s Miss Valentine 2011 which she won earlier this year.
The beauty queen has also participated in various beauty pageants including Miss Coventry where she came out as the runner up and in Miss Face of Derby where she also came second.
Nokuthaba is hoping to follow in the successful footsteps of Vanessa Sibanda who was crowned the second runner up for the Top Model of the World contest held in Germany in March.
The Bulawayo born beauty queen has been encouraged by the recent crowning of Miss Angola, Leila Lopes, a business student from the town of Benguela, as Miss Universe at the 60th annual pageant in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Nokuthaba was scouted through Face of Zimbabwe organisers, among several models, to represent Zimbabwe at the international beauty contest. She is being mentored and groomed for the contest by veteran businesswoman Hilda Mulenga who has also represented Vanessa at Miss Universe. In the Miss Intercontinental finals, the contestants will showcase their beauty and intelligence while also lavishing in the beautiful historic region of Vega Baja del Segura.
Speaking about Nokuthaba’s selection, a Face of Zimbabwe spokesperson said they were delighted that Zimbabwe would have a representative at another top international pageant. “Nokuthaba is definitely a worthy contender. Face of Zimbabwe is about creating a platform for Zimbabweans all over the world to show the best of their country wherever they are through beauty, charity and tourism and Nokuthaba’s participation in Miss Intercontinental is an epitome of that,” he added.
Face of Zimbabwe were also pleased to announce that Nokuthaba will be dressed for one of the segments by the fast growing fashion brand Chenai Chic (www.chenai-chic.co.uk.) who have dressed many models in most of the recent Zimbabwe pageants.
The beauty queen flew to Spain on 22nd September and will return to the UK on 8th October.
