Are you a young, beautiful, and foreign citizen living in Italy? If yes, you can take part in this year’s Miss Italy in the World - Special Edition.
The beauty pageant is now accepting applications from foreign girls aged between 18 and 26 years, who have been living in Italy for at least one year.
This is a big step considering that until last year, this competition was only open to women of Italian heritage living abroad. It is a proof that Italy has moved from being an emigrant to an immigrant country.
Patrizia Mirigliani, the organiser of Miss Italy said that as organisers of women’s beauty pageants, they felt the need of opening up to immigrant women because of the important role they play in the process of integration of immigrants.
Asked why they have not taken the big step of allowing daughters of immigrants to directly compete in Miss Italy, Ms. Mirigliani said: “We’ll get there.”

The deadline for registration is 24th July 2012. All the candidates will be invited to Rome on 26th July 2012 for the first selection.
Only 20 girls will be chosen to go forward to the national finals of the Miss Italy in the World - Special Edition to be held at Montecatini Terme.
This is an important opportunity for foreign girls aspiring to join the entertainment and modelling world.
The winner will win work contracts worth 20,000 Euros in addition to carrying home the prestigious crown and being admired by millions of Italian TV viewers.
