Donadi: Church has unmasked Berlusconi's lies

Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi continues to be attacked for having said that a reduction in the number of foreigners means fewer people to fill the ranks of organized crime.
The UDV Party Chief Whip Massimo Donadi said the Catholic Bishops had unmasked Mr. Berlusconi’s lies.
Mr. Donadi appreciated the Catholic Church’s rejection of Mr. Berlusconi’s remarks.
Mons Mariano Crociata, Secretary General of the Italian Episcopal Conference said that the percentage of crimes committed by immigrants is identical to that of crimes committed by Italians.
Mr. Donadi attacked the Lega Nord party, saying that it has for years been irresponsibly promoting intolerance with the complicity of the entire ruling coalition.
Criticisms from the Italian Episcopal Conference, Mr. Donadi said, confirm that the Government has only been misleading the public opinion by approving useless and cruel laws while in reality it is incapable of managing the entry of immigrants to the country and to guarantee security in the cities.
