Protect foreign children's right to education and family unity

The Cassation Court’s ruling that irregular immigrants must be expelled even if they have minor children going to school in Italy risks penalizing the weakest members of the society and leading to worrying consequences, Mr. Francesco Scrima, Secretary General of Cisl Scuola has said.

“We are convinced that the right to education is a fundamental right,” Mr. Scrima said, and called for a law that protects minor foreign children’s right to education and family unity.
